We stayed at villa annaniko for 1 week in June with family and friends. The villa is spacious and well appointed. The outside area, pool, garden and views really makes this a lovely relaxing place to stay. The manager was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. He organised a chef to come into the villa and prepare a meal for the 8 of us. This was amazing, watching the chef and enjoying the meal he created. Platanias (nearby) was a bustling town with many restaurants to choose from if you wanted to eat out.

Fantastic venue for an extended family holiday

The villa proved to be a great venue for a 2 week holiday for a family consisting of 3 generations, the youngest in our party being 4 years, the oldest 81. The villa has truly got an amazing view of the ocean from its elevated location and amenities that really match such fabulous views. We missed nothing and was well taken care of throughout our stay by the local manager of the property. The cleaning done twice a week was the most thorough I’ve ever experienced on any travel, business or leisure. With cars rented serving the entire party we used the villa as a base for exploring Western Crete and had easy access to the services of Platanias and Chania nearby.

Villa annaniko is a fantastic villa with what is expected of a luxury holiday. We had a large family of 6 adults and 3 children. Everyone had a very good experience and enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere of a private villa provides. The service from the property manager is impeccable and he will arrange for what you want.
We lived here for 14 days and longs already back. We recommend the villa of the hottest and highly recommend having a car available.

From the beginning the service was excellent with the pickup at the airport and transportation to the house. Arriving you see an impressive view of the villa from across the canyon. The villa itself is modern and beautifully decorated with great furniture and all the necessary equipment for cooking and dining. All the bedrooms have their own bathroom and are cosy with great beds. The pool area is a whole story by itself. This was where we spent the most of our time. Surrounded by great architecture, the main pool, the kid’s pool and the many square meters of great terrace makes a fantastic setting for enjoying the whole day and evening to. The view over the mountains, the ocean and the lights from the waterfront at night is simply fantastic.
The villa is positioned in total privacy only a few kilometres from shops, restaurants and bars in the town Platanias.
All in all we had a great stay in the villa. Everything works and all our expectations were met.
We will be locking foreword to visiting Villa annaniko again.

Incredible feeling of space that surrounds you when you seat on the terrace. Undisturbed views over see, islands, villages, mountains, sunrise and sunset. Friendly and stylish modern interiors. A perfect stay, if you want to feel freedom and privacy. Perfect relaxation place for a couple, but it must be so nice to come over with a group of good friends. Master bedroom very comfortable with best views. Didn’t use others, but they look into Olive Orchard. Good tips from management. A car is necessary.

Incredibly beautiful villa we stayed nine people and it was the best vacation of our lives. Villa-Annaniko must be experienced. We ate breakfast every day at terrace and it was unbelievably beautiful views and surroundings, pool was wonderful and a big plus for the big super kids pool, kids loved it. I would recommended Villa annaniko to everyone I know and we were Iser pleased that all rooms had shower and toilet.
And a big thanks to the good service and friendliness we encountered.

The villa is amazing, so luxurious, and great value if you travel with enough people to fill it as we did. The amenities are excellent, Stelios could not have been more helpful or welcoming, and the views are just stunning. The only drawback is that you do need a car as this villa is quite out of the way (hence the amazing views), and it is quite a walk to the nearest village/town. However, this wasnt a problem for us as we wanted to explore Chania so we had rented cars.

We stayed at Villa anniniko for 1 week in June – wish it were 2 – after a week on Santorini. The home is beautiful, the view is unbelievable, and the surroundings are increadibly peaceful. Watching the sunsets from the back patio was a great conclusion to each evening. The Villa sits within a private Olive Orchard that gives you a great deal of privacy – and we enjoyed the large pool with our friends and young children all day, every day. Our hosts were incredbily helpful, providing various recommendations – and although we were only a few minutes from the large resort area, we honestly didn’t want to leave the home! It was a perfect place to enjoy a vacation with our children and friends.

Gorgeous hill-top villa

A very comfortable modern villa on top of a hill with amazing views north to the sea, south to the White Mountains and olive groves all around. Not overlooked by any other property and a very good location away from the beach, yet within easy striking distance of Platanias and a good base for trips away. Wonderful pool and good facilities, although we couldn’t find the promised CD collection and the lawn has been replaced by flowers; at least some lawn might be nice. Some 250 DVDs to choose from for siesta time, albeit most of them never went to the big screen and are of fairly mediocre quality. The cicadas were deafening to start with and quite early risers, but you get used to them. Good aircon and large airy central room, with a kitchen table for 10 (12 would be a squeeze). Basement studio (sleeps 2 + sofa bed) is quiet but the drainage wasn’t great as it became quite smelly towards the end of the day; however, you wouldn’t notice it if you didn’t use it. Master bedroom very comfortable but odd to have a bath (even if it does have a jacuzzi) as a shower would have been much more useful. Very well managed property, kept clean by a very efficient lady who also helped put together a simple lunch. Helpful local information from the property manager and the restaurants he recommended were very good; the crate of oranges he supplied were delicious. A great venue and fully recommended, although we were surprised by the request for a hefty cash damages deposit on day one (which had not been flagged up anywhere).

I stayed at the villa in May 2013 with 8 other friends, and it was INCREDIBLE! The villa was beautiful, huge, clean, well-kept, and Stelios was really amazing. He helped us book dinner reservations in town and organized for a chef to come to the villa one night and cook us a delicious authentic Greek meal. He also helped us arrange to take a boat for a day and beach hop to different beaches around Crete, as well as helped us organize hikes and daily activities.

We could not have found a better villa, and look forward to coming back in the near future!

Excellent villa and location

We really enjoyed this comfortable villa which has stunning views over towards Chania and the sea. It accommodates 5 couples comfortably, and the pool (even in April) was excellent. We enjoyed BBQ’s on the pool terrace, and were particularly taken by the attractive garden and its indigenous plants (and a vegetable garden) which surround the house. The location is good, as it is a short drive into Platanias, which has a choice of supermarkets and any number of restaurants. It is a good choice for a family holiday. The only niggles we had were an oven, and cooking hob that were not working properly on the one evening on which we had arranged a catered dinner at the villa, for a special anniversary, and arguably these devices should have been checked beforehand. Otherwise no problems!

Villa AnnaNiko is a very special place.

Villa AnnaNiko is a truly relaxing space. From the moment we arrived, with guidance from the wonderful host, Stelios, we were impressed initially with the villa itself – beautifully designed, giving you the opportunity to really absorb the wonderful views, the peace and quiet of the olive groves, the tranquil water features and the luxury of your surroundings. Upon arrival Stelios showed us all around, gave us ideas for our holiday and was so happy to help. We had all sorts of goodies in the villa too which was very welcome. We hardly left the villa, such was the comfort of it all. We also enjoyed a lovely evening, having greek food prepared in our kitchen for us by two skillfull cooks who were more than happy to share their skills and their recipes! If, however you really want to relax then we would strongly recommend a terrificThai massage – it does not get any better – under a blue sky, in the olive groves with the hum of nature around you! We will definitely be going back.

Wonderful house and excellent hospitality!

The perfect holidayhome! The views are stunning, the House modern and luxurious, the hospitality of the host Stelios is outstanding!

He helped with whatever we asked, like booking a local chef one evening. Great four course meal of local dishes. I will highly recommend doing the same!

We were two families of four, plus two grandparents. We had enough space both inside and outside and really enjoyed our week here in may.

We would love to go back!

Wonedrful Villa

We were 8 in our party and decided to go further south this year for our ‘week in the sun’; last year being in Corfu

AnnaNiko was carefully chosen after extensive research, and we were not disappointed

– The accommodation for 6 adults and 2 children was perfect

– The internal layout and modern design ideal for us

– The location just breath-taking, easy to reach and conveniently close to local restaurants and beaches

– And the pools – two of them – just stunning

Making full use of all the Villa’s facilities – it’s gardens, wider grounds and all seating areas – we wouldn’t hesitate to return. It poses a hard act to better

Spectacular in every way

We’re New Yorkers with a deeply ingrained appetite for the deluxe but an equal affection for adventure, beauty, and chill. Villa Annaniko fits all bills. It’s a spectacular piece of architecture – gracious, modern and spare. It’s views are breathtaking – a long sweep of hillside and blue sea in one direction; the stunning White Mountains in another. The property is gracious and lovely, inside and out. The interiors speak to a minimalist’s taste but are without question, elegant. The landscaping – lovingly cultivated but with a respectful nod to nature’s whims – is simply inspired. Near enough to a host of stunning beaches but perched above the sea, there is much to do. Watch the skies, walk through ridiculously abundant lemon, orange, and olive groves, and laze around the pristine pools. Or better yet, do all that AND explore Western Crete’s richness. If this is where you’re headed, you already know how special this part of Greece is. Gorges, hikes, Minoan archeology, and ridiculously good food. But at Annaniko, you get a whole other layer of perfect. The property’s host, manager, caretaker, gardener, and all around saint, Stelios Malekakis, is a true find. A font of information, a gentle presence (when and if you want him), and an extraordinary masseuse. A knowledgeable guide who elevates Villa Annaniko from wonderful to sublime. I can’t recommend this paradise highly enough.

Beautiful serene villa

Our stay at Villa Annaniko was fantastic. The architecture of the villa and pool, and the view, are every bit as spectacular as the photos. The property affords absolute privacy, and the surrounding gardens and olive orchards (complete with hammocks) are beautifully kept, and contribute to a feeling of total relaxation in the Old World. The kitchen and bathrooms are very modern and clean. Stelios was a superb host. He thoroughly explained the workings of the villa at check-in, was easily available by text for questions, and afforded us total privacy during the stay. He arranged a great driver for us, and also arranged a rental car for us for one day, which was conveniently dropped off and picked up at the villa. He was a great source for “things-to-do” in the area, restaurants, etc. I would recommend this villa to any group that is looking for a private and relaxing experience. The location is several minutes from town, so you need a car and/or driver. But being isolated with such beautiful surroundings is heavenly!

Stunning experience

We – 6 adults, 4 kids, stayed in the villa for 2 weeks. There was sufficient space inside and outside the house for all of us. The pool and the view towards the sea were amazing. Cleaning ladies came twice a week and Stelios was extremely helpful in suggesting restaurants nearby and organizing a trip to the south. What a memorable experience all together

Absolutely beautiful holidays in an amazing Villa!

We had a two weeks Holiday at Villa AnnaNiko in September as a family of 6 persons (4 adults, 2 children). We were absolutely satisfied with everything this amazing house offered us!

We didn’t want to leave the villa for day trips, because it was so beautiful just staying at the pool, enjoying the House, the absolutely beautiful garden and the complete silence all around the villa. A place where you can totally relaxe and forget all the things around …

The Villa is in a good shape, the owner Stelio takes care of it very lovely, and there’s nothing missing in and around the house!

We can absolutely recommend Villa AnnaNiko and plan to come back again!

Special thanks to Stelio for all the good recomendations and Insider tips, we enjoyed them all very much!!!

Stunning and peaceful!

I traveled to Crete with my family and we stayed at Villa AnnaNiko for 6 nights. The house is beautiful, the pool was great, and the view, breathtaking. We were so excited to get fresh cucumber, thyme, rosemary, and tomatoes from the gardens outside the house. It made it feel very homey. The house was in a great location to take day trips. I recommend renting a car so it’s easy to get places. Stelios was a great host, and he also gives an incredible Thai massage!! When we’re back in Crete we’ll definitely come back to this beautiful place 🙂

Wonderful views, great amenities, great service

We stayed at Villa AnnaNiko for two weeks in late June. We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed the pristine property. The house is spacious, nicely decorated in a modern style and has everything you could wish for.

The views from the property are outstanding and we enjoyed the wonderful pool a lot. There are many good restaurants driving distance from the property, which we frequented for lunch, but for dinner we mostly stayed at the property to be able to take advantage of the views, the outside grill and enjoy the Cretean wines (particularly Nostos-Manusakis winery, which is also worth a visit).

The twice-weekly cleaning crew was very good and left the place impeccably clean. Also, Stelios, the manager, was very accommodating and provided a lot good advice as to where to go and what to do. There are many nice day trips you can do from the property as Creta offers something for every taste.

A top class villa – I would return again and again

We were a group of 8 adults – 4 couples – and had a great time based at Villa AnnaNiko for 2 weeks. The villa has everything you could wish for and, if you need and help or advice, Stelios is on the end of the phone. This was the eighth year that we have been away as a group and Villa AnnaNiko was one of the best villas that we have rented. The views are to die for; the pools (both) are great; and the furniture is as good as new. In sum, I am more than happy to recommend Villa AnnaNiko to any potential stayer – you will definitely not be disappointed. The best recommendation I can give is to say that we would return!

Modern Comfortable House with Beautiful Views

We enjoyed our stay at Villa AnnaNiko immensely! The house was well-appointed with all the modern ammenities, had a beautiful design and layout, a wonderful heated pool and gorgeous views. In addition, we were welcome to pick tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs for our meals, from the local garden. Stelios, the manager, was extremely helpful with tips on the island. He and his crew came to clean and maintain the house twice each week during our two week stay, and did a thorough and impressive job. We are very much looking forward to returning in future.

Stelios is an amazing host. His property is clean, modern and comfortable. It is rare to find places with bathrooms in each of the rooms. We visited with 4 other families and were very comfortable in all of the rooms. His welcome basket was delicious and he organized an unforgettable meal, actually two meals with a private chef. Probably the best food we ate while visiting Crete!

Beautiful villa and gardens with first class management.

I have stayed in over three dozen villas over the years and can honestly say that Stelios is the very best Villa Manager I have ever encountered – by a very long way. He genuinely wants the villa’s guests to enjoy themselves and puts himself out to facilitate this.

Before we arrived we asked him to help arrange two rental cars and a ‘Welcome Pack’. The cars were waiting for us at Heraklion Airport and he met us locally to guide us to the villa although it was getting on for midnight. He briefly showed us around the villa and returned for a much fuller briefing the following day. The Welcome Pack was very comprehensive and included some items ‘with the compliments of the villa’. Stelios’s English is good and his optional extra Thai massages, both relaxing and therapeutic, are excellent.

He is quite rightly proud of the villa’s beautiful and secluded garden and lovely surrounding olive grove. He planned and maintains this garden himself and generously shares the organic fruit and vegetables that grow in it. His advice and guidance on nearby sites and restaurants to visit were also very useful and his willingness to help make our stay as comfortable as possible was much appreciated. He was a thoughtful, kind and efficient adjunct to making our stay as pleasurable as it was and he was always just a phone call away if needed.

The villa itself is a delightful and architecturally interesting building. It is maintained to a very high standard and is well equipped and comfortably furnished. The twice weekly linen change and cleaning were very thorough. The living rooms are high ceilinged and cool even during our stay when local temperatures rose to about 40 degrees C. The air con in both the main room and all the bedrooms was effective and quiet. The en suite bedrooms themselves are well set out with comfortable beds and good storage.

The swimming pool terraces are spacious and the main pool kept sparklingly clean. The views from the villa are terrific, looking to the sea and Goat Island in one direction and the White Mountains in the other. Although we did not really avail ourselves of it, there is a well and expensively equipped gym in the basement and the wi-fi worked well in all areas of the villa and outside around the pool & terraces.

In summary, we would not hesitate in recommending this villa to anybody, especially given the friendly and thoughtful services of Stelios who always went the extra mile to give us a delightful and memorable vacation.
